Professional Summary

Jake Ueckert is a Project Manager in the Texas A&M Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology. His focus is in the molecular diagnostics of plant pathogens. This work involves optimizing and validating molecular diagnostic assays that are utilized by the Texas Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Texas A&M as well as other labs in the National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN). He is a USDA certified molecular diagnostician for Citrus Greening disease. In addition to the diagnostic development work, he also works with the National Clean Plant Network for Roses (NCPN-R) to screen rose cultivars for specific viruses. This work helps ensure that clean, tested rose propagation material is available to rose growers and nurseries across the United States.
