Professional Summary

John O. Oladokun, Ph.D., is an early-career plant pathologist with over 10 years of combined experience in applied plant pathology research and extension programs. His research interests focus on economically important diseases of crops of all types, especially those caused by virus and virus-like agents. He conducts translational research into disease causation, epidemiology, diagnostics, and grower-friendly management strategies. John provides expert guidance and diagnostic support services to growers across various commodity types and clientele. His long-term goal is to continue working independently and in interdisciplinary collaborations to develop effective strategic directions through the creation of actionable ideas aimed at successfully achieving overall goals. He has authored 16 well-cited peer-reviewed journal articles and has given presentations at grower meetings, conferences, and other events. He is a member of the American Phytopathological Society (APS) and other recognized phytopathological societies, where he serves in various capacities, including as a member, executive, and Ad-Hoc reviewer. Since 2022, he has served as a Postdoctoral Extension Associate in the Department of Plant Pathology & Microbiology (PLPM) at Texas A&M University.
