Professional Summary
Jiaxing Liu, Ph.D., is a joint postdoc researcher at the Texas A&M University Agrilife Research (Weslaco Center) and Texas A&M University. Her research interests lie in the interaction between plant host and its microbe, such as citrus greening (Huanglongbing, HLB) and grass virus infection. These projects address an array of questions that provide insight into exploring the biochemical and genetic basis of plant signal transduction pathways from cell surface sensing the microbes to signaling cascades and target proteins that are central to initiating effective immune responses. Through this fundamental wet lab work, we can dig and find many important genes that are not only in charge of the signaling transduction but also involved in the growth of the plant. Mining the molecular biological mechanisms between plants and the microbe is very meaningful to the plant breeding industry.
