Job Duties

Perform investigations of media and business practices to determine probable cause for applicable offenses. Submit investigations, satisfying the elements of offense, to the appropriate venue for prosecution. Provide support and training to other law enforcement agencies.

Impacts

The TCEQ provides technical support and criminal investigative expertise in multi-agency investigations. We also serve as a resource for and provide training to local, state, and federal law enforcement officers on criminal environmental violations. Our goals are to increase recognition of environmental crime as a threat to public safety and to encourage and support enforcement of environmental statutes at the local level.

What advise would you give to the current Aggies interested in entering environmental industry?

Know yourself. Know your end state. And, don’t forget “time” is always a planning element.

If you were entering the environmental industry today, what area would you pursue? Why?

Anything with links to construction management. This would include NEPA, VCP, PST, NESHAPS, SWP3, and MS4. Contract management experience will evolve while operating in this field which will expand opportunities to switch hit job titles. This potentially develops into a versatility of experience for you to decide the left and right limits of where you prefer to operate.
