Manager – Environmental Permitting, Planning & Reporting

Job Duties

  • Coordinate with assets in the planning process to evaluate regulatory and permitting implications that impact the facility design and operation.
  • Implementation of corporate permitting and reporting programs.
  • Develop and implement a framework for multiple media compliance initiatives that impact operating assets (e.g. stormwater, SPCC, waste, etc.)
  • Partner with the Compliance groups on standardization of inspection procedures and environmental performance metrics reporting across assets.
  • Manages the development and maintenance of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Environmental Policy, Standards and Guidelines related to environmental compliance (soil, water, waste) which implements the regulatory requirements & consistent with existing standards in the oil and gas industry.
  • Assist and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on environmental matters to promote continuous improvement to assist with the achievement of our environmental expectations and objectives.
  • Interface with senior management and provide regular updates on environmental initiatives and projects for their areas and upcoming regulations that will potentially impact their operations.
  • Assist with property & lease acquisition due diligence process ensuring that Pioneer purchases properties with minimal environmental defects & ensuring purchased properties are rapidly remediated to Pioneer’s compliance standard of conducting business.
  • Oversee preparation, QA/QC, and reporting to both internal stakeholders and external regulatory agencies and provide QA/QC of reported metrics (weekly, monthly, annually)
  • Manage environmental staff including G&A budgeting, staffing, mentoring, and career development.

Learn the environmental regulations specific to the industry you want to be involved in. Choose an applicable internship and learn everything you can. That experience is invaluable.

Compliance with environmental regulations is an ongoing and growing area of the environmental industry that is necessary and adds value to a business organization.
