What are you passionate about?

For my career, I am passionate about supporting pipeline operators in the Health & Safety industry. I continue to increase my knowledge with the every changing regulations.
On a personal level, I am very involved and passionate with a couple of non-profits. One is called the National Breast Cancer Foundation and assisting women who are impacted by breast cancer and helping them through every step of their journey. I also participate and serve as a board member for another nonprofit called I AM DOG RESCUE. We help find forever homes for unwanted and homeless dogs.

Describe your educational history

Graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bioenvironmental Science degree. I am also 40 Hour HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) trained.

What advise would you give to the current Aggies interested in entering environmental industry?

I would tell current students and graduates to find a job with an environmental consulting company. Usually, these types of jobs, you can be exposed to many different environmental areas, i.e. soil, water, air, remediation, etc. I would recommend assisting with any project, go out into the field and get as much experience as possible. By experiencing so many different areas, you can determine what field of expertise you are interested in.
Also, networking is so important as you build your resume and continue your career. Get involved with industry groups, associations, etc. and get to know your peers

If you were entering the environmental industry today, what area would you pursue? Why?

I would pursue the remediation area. I enjoy the the investigation process of learning a job site, the challenge of figuring out the best solution and seeing the process of the project.
