B.S. Environmental Studies

You want to improve the environment, but you know the key may be to understand the impact of politics and society on environmental issues. From political agreements on legal and regulatory requirements to technology, economics and the marketplace, the environment is constantly pressured.

The B.S. degree in Environmental Studies will help you uncover these pressures and their possible solutions with a blend of technical training with a solid foundation in economics, political issues, environmental law, ethics, and communications.

B.S. Environmental Studies Program Details

The ENST degree is a truly unique curriculum with a fusion of courses from liberal arts and technical courses in biological sciences, natural resources, and assessment of the environment. You will learn from faculty across these disciplines.

Why major in Environmental Studies?

The B.S. degree in Environmental Studies provides students with the opportunity to learn about the major societal forces that influence environmental issues. These include political agreements, supporting legal and regulatory requirements, economics and the marketplace, environmental values, and technology. 

Students gain a technical background blended with a solid foundation in economics, political issues, environmental law, ethics, and communications. The degree is designed to educate students about the environment and to empower them with diverse knowledge about a wide-variety of environmental issues and public policy aspects facing our nation.

Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary blending of environmental and life sciences and policy aspects of human interactions with the environment. The degree is designed to educate students about the environment and to empower them with diverse knowledge about a wide-variety of environmental issues and public policy aspects facing our nation.  As such, students will be prepared for a number of environmental career choices in such areas as environmental advocacy and educational groups, policy analysis, environmental law, and conservation management.
