What advise would you give to the current Aggies interested in entering environmental industry?
1) Networking and establishing industry connections is so important. Engage in a local environmental association chapter and alumni groups. The environmental industry is quite connected; never burn a bridge. 2) Build a strong technical foundation including understanding and applicability of regulations, data analysis, and field experience if possible. 3) Commit to continuous learning and work to obtain a certification or license in your area of interest.
If you were entering the environmental industry today, what area would you pursue? Why?
With current and future projected water shortages coupled with rising demands associated with tech-industries and energy transition, effective water resource management including freshwater alternatives and innovative beneficial reuse strategies will become increasingly critical.
