Internships provide our students an opportunity to explore the practical aspects of their classroom experience as well as giving them an advantage when it comes time to look for employment after graduation.
Once an internship project is identified and approved (Form 484), students will register for the internship course (BESC 484) and will receive 3 hours credit towards their degree plan. At the completion of the internship, students will prepare a report on their internship following departmental guidelines
Students in the program have recently completed internships working on projects such as:
- Chemical analysis of oil samples
- Design and construction of water reclamation plants
- Gathering water, soil, and air samples for cases in litigation
- Research of biocontrol agents dealing with cotton pathology
- Feasibility studies for recycling
- Environmental consulting for US Department of Defense
