BESC Program

 

      A professional internship is required for a degree in Bioenvironmental Science. Students receive three (3) credit hours after completing this internship.

      Internships provide BESC students an opportunity to explore the practical aspects of their classroom experience as well as giving them an advantage when it comes time to look for employment after graduation.

      Working on such projects as:

    • Chemical analysis of oil field samples
    • Design and construction of water reclamation plants
    • Gathering water, soil and air samples for cases in litigation
    • Research of biocontrol agents dealing with cotton pathology
    • Feasibility studies for plastics recycling
    • The applied use of pine needles as indicators of airborne contaminants
    • Macrophyte survey on Lake Waco
    • Phase I site assessments
